Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

John William Henthorn, 89, 1011 Grant St., Danville, died Saturday (June 19, 1971) in Colonial Manor Nursing Home after a two-year illness. Mr. Henthorn retired from farming in 1954. He had farmed several years west of Covington and southwest of Veedersburg. He was a member of the Benson Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Evangelical United Methodist Church at Danville. Born Nov. 8, 1881, in Blount Township, Ill., he was a son of William A. and Lucy Belle Moore Henthorn. He was married Nov. 13, 1904, at Henning Ill., to Bessie McCoy. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Anna Belle Henthorn of Richmond; a foster son, Charles R. Luton of Danville; two brothers, Edgar L. of Waynetown and Dewey of Roachdale; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha French of Veedersburg and Mrs. Daisy Whalen, Mrs. Mary Davidson and Mrs. Helen Demorest, all of Crawfordsville; three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dec. 29, 1958, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services at Danville with Rev. J. T. Myers and Rev. William Stotts officiating.
